About our latest Fam Trip: discovering Barcelona and Girona

Wrapped in the magic of two cities!

Although the MAX Tourism team likes to consider themselves citizens of a place called the world, they are always willing to take the opportunity to continue exploring the most particular corners of our city, Barcelona, and to move to Girona to enrich ourselves with original experiences.

So we did it: from 16th to 18th of March of this year 2018, together with the incomparable company of our client Incentives Barcelona and FIL Mediterranean Travel Designers agency, we went into the particularities of both Catalan cities together with 10 event organizers from Sweden and Norway.

The first day included a wine tasting activity in the historic center of Barcelona. The sommelier explained to us in detail the instructions on how to see, smell and taste our wine or cava, with products from small high quality wineries. In the afternoon we wanted to repeat the original activity we did in the previous fam trip: the visit to the Gothic Quarter and Raval with Udo, a guide who had lived in the streets in the past, who now works for a company that helps to insert people like him so they can live a decent life.

The group stayed at fantastic Hotel Camiral at PGA Catalunya Resort which is 45 minutes away from the city of Barcelona and belongs to Leading Hotels of the World. All the participants were delighted with the splendid facilities of this hotel, which is surrounded by nature a few kilometers away from Girona. It offers a total of 145 design rooms and 10 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity for 450 people in theater set up and natural light.

The second day we did an electric bike tour, visiting the medieval towns of Empordà, a territory also marked by the art of the famous painter Salvador Dalí. Later on, we were able to enjoy an incredible lunch in a restaurant with traditional Mediterranean cuisine. In the afternoon, we visited the ruins of Empúries with a dramatized visit led by a guide dressed in a costume from Roman times. A later visit to a Gothic Castle and a fun dinner in a cooking workshop closed this lively day.

The program ended the next day with a fun way to discover medieval Girona, the Jewish quarter and the colorful houses of the old town and promote teamwork. A competition was held with IPADS, where the group divided into teams should answer questions about Girona included in the app of the Ipad.

We could not be happier with the result of this Fam Trip and the beautiful memories that we have taken home. Thanks to our clients Hotel Camiral at PGA Catalunya Resort, Incentives Barcelona and also to FIL Mediterranean Travel Designers for making this unique experience possible!
