Alicante has conquered the participants of our Educational Trip
In spring 2018 the Alicante Convention Bureau contacted us to invite 12 event organizers from the Nordic countries to show them the city of Alicante and what it offers for MICE groups. Previously we had traveled with 3 hotel member to Stockholm in December 2017 to present their destination.
Alicante airport is only 10 minutes from the city center and has 104 weekly direct flights from Scandinavia to Alicante.
The Educational Trip took place from the 18th till the 20th of October 2018 and although the weather forecast was of rain for the 3 days, finally had sunshine every day and we could do everything that was planned. The group stayed at emblematic Hotel Meliá Alicante that is located right in front of the sea and only a few meters of the center. The first day the participants enjoyed a bike ride through the old town and a dinner with incredible views from one of the highest points of the city.
The second day the participants could meet 10 hoteliers from Alicante in a workshop organized by the Convention Bureau, then to change the registry completely we went to a yacht club to do a Paddle Surf activity which was followed by a fantastic meal in a hotel in his restaurant with views on the 26th floor. In the afternoon we did a Tai Chi activity on the beach listening to the sound of the sea that we all liked very much. The dinner took place in the restaurant of an emblematic hotel and was exquisite.
The last day we did a walk through the Castle of Santa Bárbara where we could try a typical horchata with fartons. Next and to leave a good taste, we did a workshop with the aim of cooking tasty rice. Did you know that in Alicante has more than 150 rice recipes?
Costa Blanca region enjoys a warm climate throughout the year registering an average of 18º between the months of November to March and more than 300 sunny days a year per year.
We cannot be more happy and proud with the result of this Educational Trip knowing that the participants have taken good ideas for future groups and have left happy with the experience. It has been a pleasure to work with Alicante Convention Bureau and promote the destination!
