MAXlive: interviews with experts in Tourism and the world of events

In February we started doing live interviews on our Instagram account @max.tourism

The idea is to speak with experts in the Tourism industry and the world of events to share knowledge and learn from each other. In these changing times it is more important than ever to stay informed and connected. Some interviews will be in English and some in Spanish.

Our first interview was with Nadia Nemer D´rpic, who helped us conceptualize our first “Online meeting with a twist” held in October 2020 in order to promote our country to event organizers in Scandinavia through a virtual event called “Travel to Spain with a twist”. I loved working with Nadia and we are already thinking of other ideas. She is based in Mallorca and usually lives between trips, events and conferences. She is a tireless entrepreneur and creator of the brand “Woman Rocks”. If you want to know more about her you can check her website. The interview was focused mainly on the new way of organizing events in times of pandemic

The second interview was in English with Mariska Kesteloo who is an entrepreneur, public speaker, author, and current MPI Board member. He has more than 20 years of work experience in tourism and in the meetings and events industry. Passionate about storytelling, Mariska founded her company Word of MICE in 2017. Her company connects the meetings and events industry with the right MICE influencer, to tell and spread the story in an authentic, creative and professional way. In our interview we talked about creating content that adds value, promotes education and knowledge sharing for a very specific group of people in the tourism industry.

Our third guest was Trine Pedersen, who has been in charge of marketing for the Spanish Tourism Office in Norway since 1999. She works in the organization of events with focus on travel agents and the final public. Among other things, she organizes between 20 and 40 annual fam trips to Spain (before the pandemic of course). In the interview we talked about the current situation in Norway, reactivation of air connections and what are the forecasts for the rest of the year

On 10th of March, the day on which wi will publish this post, we will interview Norma Galofré on behalf of the Association of Tourism Professionals in Catalonia (COPTUR) where she will explain the objectives of the reactivation of this association, its structure and to whom it is directed amongst others. The association was founded in 1992 and disappeared in year 2010 with the death of the founder.

We are currently working on more interesting interviews and we sincerely hope you like them and add value to you. If you have missed our previous Live Instagrams, you can see them on our IGTV. You are all invited to follow us on our Instagram account @max.tourism and participate in our MAXlive with questions and valuable contributions.
