The Norwegian operational base in Barcelona was opened in April 2014, with three aircrafts. Since June 2015 a fourth aircraft (Boeing 737 with capacity for 186) started its operation: Birmingham in the UK, Dubrovnik in Croatia, Billund in Denmark, Stavanger and Trondheim in Norway.

The intercontinental traffic growth has been higher, 10.9%, showing further the potential of intercontinental traffic in Barcelona and challenge that is still to achieve with new long flights from the major catalán airport.
